Hello Sunshine! Do you sometimes find yourself reaching for a children's title, just because? I do!
I am envious of little kids nowadays. Not only do children's fashion have a lot going on, even children's titles are chunkier. My love for books, and I would assume this goes the same for my generation, started with Sweet Valley High and Betty and Veronica comics! I believe, even Nancy Drew titles defined the person that I am now. Pitch in a little bit of Disney stories and a lot of Golden Classics, and voila, my heart and soul's menu. But these days, there are a lot of children's titles to choose from! Locally or internationally, variety is there! So jealous... so the next logical thing to do is to peruse titles way below my age bracket! Why not? We're all children once, and we can all still be child-like still.
Is a Worry Worrying You? is among the titles that are memorable, striking and enigmatic even for readers like me, who have long bid childhood years goodbye. It's about children's worries like bullying, ghosts and more. I read it at a time when I my adult worries haunting and following my every step, and still I was able to relate to the book. Amazingly comforting, I wouldn't be surprised if I catch myself reaching out to this book more than usual.
Is a Worry Worrying You? Because a worry is worrying me. And sometimes, when we're done with our sounding board and the friendly "I'm just here" hugs, and we still painfully feel restless, sometimes all we have to do is go back to our youngest and most innocent state of mind, and be a child and let ourselves be touched by the basic lessons of life: patience, will and resilience. Is a Worry Worrying You is humorous and easy to relate to, it can make you go "Aww..." and nod in affirmation. It sure pushed me to thinking that yes, things can get better--I just have to see the better through.
What do you do when you're worried?
