REVIEW: San San Cheek Blusher in Peach, Pink and Honey Blush
For this post, I will do something I don't often do... talk about my favorite (blush).
I'm the type of girl who doesn't really have a favorite. I love and like-a-lot a lot of things, but I take the process of coining something as a favorite as too sentimental and meaningful--not to mention difficult. Because of that, I end up with very limited favorites. In fact, I only know that I have a favorite color and that's green. And that I have a favorite flower, obviously the sunflower. The rest, like simple questions like what's your favorite cartoon? song? food? music genre? movie? I have no definite answer. This girl just can't choose!
Make-up wise, I know I'm not a huge blush person. I love beauty tools and lipsticks a lot, but blushes? Not so much, probably because I prefer bold statements on the lips than my cheeks or because I don't like the shape of my face so I try not to do anything with it... but as much as I'm a no-blush type of lady, I do have a favorite among the few that I have and that's undeniably San San's Peach Blush Cheek Blusher.
It's one of my favorite cheek colors because it satisfies my color expectations out of a peach blush. I love using peach tones for the face (except the eyes) and this cheek blusher from San San is just wow. The color pay-off is strikingly amazing. It lasts the whole day, it doesn't break me out, it doesn't cake, it blends well so it looks natural, and it's so bright it makes my chubby cheeks pop--instead of look puffy. :)
So... imagine my delight (or like how I was jumping for joy secretly) when I visited HBC and saw three other shades from the San San Cheek Blusher line.
]
The San San Cheek Blushers available were Honey Blush, Pink Blush and Mocha Blush. I removed Mocha Blush from my basket on the last minute because I realized I don't have cash and HBC near us did not accept card :( So I'm kind of bummed about that because I wanted to have the entire collection (And have some back-ups too cause I want to have a back-up of this collection so as to be prepared in case I lose my pan--I love it that much!!!) Anyway, I got Honey Blush and Pink Blush.
Happy to now have these new babies. They're just Php 102 each. I just looked at my receipt (hehe fresh haul) and I noticed a discount! I'm not sure if it's because there's an ongoing sale or because I'm an HBC member, eitherway, I'm happy to know that my affordable make-up just go more affordable!
This is Honey Blush. I think the name suits it so well.
This is Peach Blush. At first glance it looks like Honey Blush only brighter.
Here's the two side by side. Honey blush is a warmer color compared to Peach blush. On the pan, they look so similar but as you would see below, they're completely different--and that's good. I don't like it when a brand comes up with a collection with shades almost looking like the same thing. I don't like how some brands make you pay for the same thing just by making it look like something else (repackaging, name, etc)
Swatches below. LOL SORRY ABOUT THE ERROR. PEACH BLUSH IS FARTHEST LEFT WHILE THE FARTHEST RIGHT IS PINK BLUSH :p
Random things to love about these Cheek Blushers...
I love how the manufacturing and expiry date are clearly shown on the box. I was just shaky that's why the photo's blurry haha I'm alos happy that for example, my blush was manufactured last July 2011, I'm happy it's going to expire two years after. Powder blushes, especially when cared for well, can last longest among all make-up formats.
I love how the packaging has this "swatch" on the cap--similar to DIY hair coloring shampoos. I also love how the product is cushions within the box. The packaging is simple yet functional. I also love that this blush is enriched with Vit A, C and E-oh! with SPF 15 too!
What I don't like...
I'm a picky brush-lover so I don't like the blush that came with it. It would've been better if the space where the brush was placed was turned to added blush instead! Although most blush compacts with free brushes are not paired with amazing brushes, the brush that came with this compact was just so useless to me. It's so small and stiff so I don't use it. In fact I just throw it away. The cheek blushers are great and smooth enough to be applied using the fingers anyway. :)
Ingredients: Talc, Mica, CAS#12001-26-2, Titanium Dioxide, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Magnesium Stearate, Isopropyl Isostearate, Zinc Oxide, CAS#1314-13-2, Magnesium Stearate, Ethyhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Phenoxyethanol, Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Propyl Paraben, Methyl Paraben.
How about you, what's your favorite blush among the three?
Always smile! :)
Speaking of favorites... remember my Ode to Perfume post? Well, here's one of them perfumes. This is among my favorite scents. :)
Lanvin Eclat D'Arpege is a floral musk that I can't get enough of.
What I love the most about this scent: the way it stays on the skin sexy. Like upon spraying, it's a nice scent, yes, but the longer it stays on you, and the way it perfectly blends with my body's chemistry--oh so sexy.
It's so pretty and very delicate too. I love how classic the packaging is.

This is Pink Blush--happy to find out it was sparkly! Oh, trivia. You know, I love my Peach Blush so much I didn't even bother check what "Pink blush" and what "Honey blush" looked like! I didn't open the box or swatch it, I just trusted HBC haha and I am happy that when I opened the box, I saw this.

There are days when I playfully think of sexy thoughts just because I smelled this on skin. errrr
