NAILS: Dark Shadows

How did I spend National Heroes Day? I spent it resting in my room--getting all the rest I can get--and changing my polish! I was initially wearing a very mermaid-worthy color combination when I started reaching out to darker hues, just to give them a shot. Then I realized... it's been ages since I last wore black polish! So I rummaged through my nail polish basket only to realize I don't really have a black polish except for this Ever Bilena color craze polish in black. Check out my swatches below. Note: I'm not wearing top coat.




 What's your holy grail of black polish? Any techniques so it won't look too gothic?

PS. The messy glittery cuticle is because I went through so many nail polish changes within the day!

    I have not yet found my HG Black polish but I rarely put black on anyway. This one is really nice! The shine looks so good even without top coat! ♥

    Is there glitter on your hand or is it a effect for the pic? :p

    I've heard good things of the Finger Paints black (1 coater they say) but I only own one black nail polish, and it's shimmery :'D Essence Galactic Black. I'd have to say my favorite black is Konad Special Black because it works wonderful for stamping... but, y'know, it's not meant for full manis :p

      yeah thats why i asked abt hg black polish is bec i wanted to soon try stamping! :D

      anyway the glitter is because i have messy cuticles. the black polish i featured here is i think my third polish change for the day!

    Haha I was going to ask about the glitter! And I can't believe how glossy and shiny your nails look without even a topcoat! I don't really have a great black nail polish, but a good dark one is "Mrs Oleary's BBQ" from OPI - it's a dark burgundy colour :)

      i'll be sure to check that out. anyway, i think its a bit challenging to find a hardcore opaque basic color. normally certain finishes make them look diff :D and yes, amazing w/o top coat

    So glad you are resting and looks like you are feeling better! Add glitter (so it won't look so gothic). I really am impressed with Sinful Colors black on black...and I do like their brushes, they are simple and really easy to work with.
