Can anyone enlighten me why Chic nails would name this nail color as Montana?
Last July, I got the grainy nails bug. Sure, it's not a new nail polish trend, and it's not outrageously amazing, if you ask me (it looks like a textured matte...); but details details. I'm sure you've been in the same position: liking something without knowing why, without a special reason why.
So here's one more photo of my nails painted with Chic Nails Grainy polish in Montana. I don't use a top coat when I wear my grainy polishes because I think it defeats the purpose of having a textured polish, if you'd smooth it out with a shiny flat finish. :)
Speaking of liking something... weather's been horrid lately. I feel like every time the weather is acting up, I reminisce and try to recall my childhood days. I always tell myself, when I was younger, we had typhoons but not typhoons this strong. When climate's too overwhelming, I always feel bad about how the environment is suffering from so much pollution, carelessness and neglect. :( I don't know about you, but there's something so disheartening about the FACT that global warming and the effects of our modern lifestyle is evident in the recent natural disasters that has been striking, not just our country, but worldwide (think super typhoons, hurricanes, heat waves, tsunamis, etc).
It's a scary thing, to imagine the world (nature) falling apart. Of course we can all do small things that add up to great things; and we can do great things that resolves the small little things we tend to overlook. Every time the weather's really bad, I sit and ponder hard, how can I help preserve this beautiful country for the future to enjoy? When I look back on my childhood, I remember dancing in the rain, playing street games and even playing with catterpillars, dragonflies, butterflies and rabbits! It would be one big shame if the future's future won't get to experience such simple joys!
Which brings me to also wonder... what are you simple joys right now?
Mine are days when I get to curl up with a good read. I'm presently absorbing the wonderful stories of Carlos Ruiz Zafon. Yesterday, while the winds howled against my windowpane, I curled up with my The Angel's Game and some fresh from the pan cheese sticks!
Photos were taken on my iPhone 4S.

I like the polish, but when I hear montana I instantly think of the series in disney hannah montana, which I think if translated into nail polish would have to be in a form of pink.. :)
ReplyDeletehmm, I really would love to read a book now cause I miss reading with a real one instead of e-books... there's just something satisfying with holding books in my hands and getting enveloped in the world within the book, and excited with every turn of page... :(
me too! Montana will always be HANNA MONTANA = pink! haha :D
DeleteLove the colour of this polish, looks fabulous on your nails x

Thanks much Danielle :D
DeleteVery cute nails girl :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jennifer :D i love it to bits myself!
DeleteMy simple joy right now is the same as yours--reading. Something about our weather is conducive to curling up in bed with a cup of hot tea and a good book. The current weather actually inspired me to buy three new books.
ReplyDeletewhat are you reading right now aviva? :D
DeleteAn anthology by Kate Chopin. Her thinking was advanced for her time, so her short stories were quite controversial. Haha
DeleteI love rubbing my skin against textured polish! Such a beautiful childhood you have, Kumiko! My simple joys these days are watching monkeys climb trees on my balcony with my cats. They usually come out on rainy days. Rainy days are my favorite days these days.
ReplyDeleteme too! if the polish is textured (or outrageously smooth) i cant help but rub my nails against it! :D
DeleteNice blue! Yes, I agree, if all of us did small things to help our planet they all add up to one big thing. I'm distressed about it too.
ReplyDeleteThanks jenni :)
DeleteThis is freaking beautiful! Looks like a matte finish!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree!!
