DIY: Nightingale Dropping face mask
Tweet
Have you ever considered using bird poop for skincare? For your face even? Hmm...
There are so many myths that cast mystery upon the use of Nightingale droppings*, or Uguisu-no-Fun in Japanese, for skincare. Does Nightingale droppings bleach the skin? Does it exfoliate? Answers are here.
For the benefit of curiosity, I gave this legendary beauty quirk a try. Here are photos to help you understand what it's like to use Nightingale Droppings on your skin. Below is a photo of the Nightingale Dropping powder.
Basically for this DIY all you need are a teaspoon, a small mixing bowl, the Nightingale Droppings and for added moisturization, Rice Bran powder. I reviewed this Rice Bran wash here. As to how you create this mask, all you do is mix one part droppings to 2 parts rice bran powder. Afterward, you add in hot water little by little, then mix until the mixture becomes paste like.
Unlike powdered juice drinks, this will not dissolve entirely. It will have a paste and gooey texture which should be totally fine. Don't expect pancake batter smooth; expect brownie batter consistency :)
Once you've mixed everything well, wait for your batter to go from hot to warm. When the temperature of your mixture is tolerable, use a facial mask brush or if not available, simply use your foundation brush, to apply the mixture unto your face. Enjoy how the warm mask will open up your pores and relax your tensed facial muscles. Here's the instagram photo that I shared while doing this DIY. Trying to make a wacky face but it was difficult to make face when the mask hardens up. |
As a result, you will get instantly brighter and clarified complexion. I never really believed instant visible results coming from masks, especially if the mask is all-natural, but I was overly satisfied with the result of the Nightingale Dropping plus Rice Bran moisturizing and brightening mask. :) All products are available from Wawaza.com
