Monthly Favorites: August
Hello Sunshine! August wasn't the best month, but I want to cap it off with my favorites so I would be forced to look at it through the good things, and not the crappy memories. If you're looking for a delectable lipstick combination, I have one that will make you look like a chocolate dream. August was also a month for re-discoveries, especially in the body oil department. Last but not the least, if you follow me on social media, you should know by now that I let go of a lot of my brand new and pre-loved makeup and brushes. So for this post, I'm going to share with you my favorite makeup brushes, and I mean favorite because these babies didn't go through the grand sale! Let's do this!
For chocolate dream lips, I use. Perfect Brown AL562 and Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia. On its own, the lip liner is pigmented enough. It's just the right creamy upon application, but I find it so weird that once on the lips, it gets really dry. That's why I use a tinted lip balm on top. I go for Burt's Bees Red Dahlia because it's a deep red that trulya dds depth to the Perfect Brown lip liner.
For my makeup base, I've been using my Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream* every day. It gives very little coverage, but it feels really good on the skin. I feel like my skin improves as I use the product. Tjis product is a 12 in 1 multi-tasker that is made with certified organic ingredients that boost your skin's health from the inside.
As for a rekindled favorite, I bought this Aveeno Skin Relief Shower and Bath Oil and I just love the scent of it. The main natural active of this body oil i soothing oatmeal which makes it perfect for in-shower day and night use to relieve dry, itchy skin.
This month, I decided to make sure I use my beauty collection more. To do that, I let go of products and tools I don't think I'd really use anyway. A lot flew off the window!!! Because of that, I'm left with a whole lot less items and to be honest, it feels more peaceful! Oh, and obviously, this whole try to live with less items thing is inspired by one of my August reads, The Art of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo.
Last but not the least, my favorite brushes. Again, tidying up truly made me realize which items are more important to me than the others. This I got to best apply to how I value my makeup brushes. As I purged, I realized I only need so little to feel joy. Below are my ultimate favorite brushes (apologies for the dirty ones, again, favorite!).
